Australian dealers in the 60's sold Colts and Belletts side by side. As such, this page is dedicated to the Colt's cousin, the Isuzu Bellett.
The Bellett hit Australia in 1964, was one of the first Japanese cars to do so in any significant way, and was sold here until early 1970. Significant milestones that the Bellett brought were that it was the first Japanese car sold here with an independent rear suspension, and even better was that the Bellett GT was the first Japanese car ever offered to the public anywhere in the world with a genuine GT badge and persona. The Isuzu Bellett has almost a cult following in Australia and there are plenty of people around who will tell you more about them. If you would like to more about them, please let us know and we will put you in touch with some of our friends who live and breathe these fantastic Japanese cars.
